BMW has long established itself in the automotive industry for its ultra-luxurious and high-performing cars that are just as nice to sit in as they are to drive. What often flies under the radar with these vehicles, however, is how tech-savvy they are. The redesigned 2025 X3, for example, comes with a wide array of features to keep passengers connected and protected, and many more can be added. If you are considering a BMW X3 for sale, you will be in for a tech treat. Let’s go over the highlights that will help you have an enjoyable—and safe—driving experience.

High-Tech Performance

The performance components of the BMX X3 are as technologically advanced as they come. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that produces 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The X3 M50 xDrive has a turbocharged 3.0L six-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and it offers 393 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. The mild-hybrid systems use a small electric motor to enhance the gasoline engine’s output at lower speeds for more responsive and efficient performance. BMW’s advanced xDrive all-wheel drive is standard on the 2025 X3, along with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. The M50 comes with an adaptive suspension (which is also available on the base X3) that makes its ride quality even better. There are also different drive modes to choose from, including Personal, Efficient, and Sport.

State-of-the-Art Infotainment System

The control center of the 2025 X3 is a digital dashboard consisting of a 12.3-inch driver gauge cluster and a large curved 14.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. You can have your X3 outfitted with a head-up display, which directly projects information like speed and navigation onto the windshield. The infotainment system can be operated using controls on the steering wheel and voice commands in addition to the touchscreen. The 2025 model debuts BMW’s latest iDrive 9 system, improving on previous systems with quicker response times and sharper graphics. It also has a new design, as the home screen features the most used apps, and there is a series of shortcuts on the bottom to give you fast access to the climate and audio functions. One of the biggest benefits of the system is that it allows for over-the-air updates, so it always runs the latest software.

Advanced Entertainment and Connectivity Features

In addition to the user-friendly infotainment system, the BMW X3 comes loaded with other tech amenities. Whatever devices you have, there will be no issues using them, as both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. It also comes with a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, USB ports, and wireless device charging. Other built-in systems include SiriusXM 360L radio, in-dash navigation, keyless entry, and push-button start. Remote start and a 15-speaker Harman Kardon stereo are available. Another feature you might like is BMW Digital Premium. When the X3 is parked, this feature allows you to stream video and even play video games through the infotainment system. You will also be able to access Spotify and Amazon Music.

BMW ConnectedDrive

If you want your X3 to be even more tech-focused, BMW will oblige. With ConnectedDrive, you can get a whole host of features to get even more out of your vehicle. These include:

My BMW App

The My BMW App lets you keep close tabs on everything going on with your car, including fuel level and tire pressure. It also enables you to locate your vehicle in a crowded parking lot and lock or unlock it remotely. This app makes it easy to get where you need to go, as you can send your destination directly to your car, and it will figure out the most efficient path to take. Plus, it can locate points of interest along the way and even help you find parking.

Digital Key Plus

Physical keys are so passé. With Digital Key Plus, you can use a compatible phone or smartwatch as your key to unlock, start, and drive your vehicle and leave the keyfob at home. Access can also be shared with up to five people, so you can let family and friends drive your car without giving them a keyfob.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant

If you have ever wanted your own personal assistant, your X3 can come equipped with one. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is voice-activated—just say, “Hey, BMW,” and it will spring to action. Plus, it will learn your preferences and remember the destinations you commonly go to.

BMW Maps

Every journey will be an easy one with BMW Maps. This uses the cloud for navigation, and it will give you real-time updates regarding traffic, construction, and accidents. It also provides helpful information like speed limits, nearby parking, business information, and more to make your journeys hassle-free.

Latest Driver Assistance Features

In addition to the fun and futuristic stuff, the BMW X3 also uses advanced technology to help keep you and your passengers safe. Every 2025 model comes with Active Blind Spot Detection, which makes you aware of vehicles around you that you can’t see with your mirrors. Lane Departure Warning is also included, alerting you if you start to move out of your lane without putting your signal on. You will also get Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation. Using sensors, your X3 will monitor the road ahead. If a potential crash with a car or pedestrian is detected, you will get a quick warning, and if necessary, your vehicle will apply the brakes. Another safety system that you will like—especially if you do a lot of driving at night—is LED headlights with Automatic High Beam. When any oncoming traffic approaches, your car will switch off the high beams. Once the traffic passes, the X3 will flip the high beams back on.

If you often need to park in tight spots, Parking Assistant uses sensors and cameras to automatically navigate narrow parking spots. You can also upgrade to the Parking Assistant Professional Package, which has an even niftier feature: your car can park itself even if you are not behind the wheel. When a predesignated space has been saved in the car’s computer—like a spot in a garage or parking lot—your car can automatically maneuver up to 650 yards on its own. Another notable available feature is Active Driving Assistant Pro. This will adjust your position within your lane so you can stay centered. Traffic Jam Assistant can also be included, which will help you manage your acceleration, braking, and steering in low-speed conditions.
